suddenly, it is blue sky with white clouds... just like that! perhaps there's another little donkey out there who has found the magic pebble?! :)

earthquake, volcano eruptions... wow. i remember hearing on the radio one day saying volcano eruptions cause global temperature to go down by a few degrees.

why can't humans just live in peace? why do they have to find ways to cause conflicts? in the end, the ones who suffer are always the little people, like us. vengeance and hatred only yield more vengeance and hatred. the little people are sacrificed... for what?

wes takes on cues pretty well. since the hit/push episode, i have been asking him whether anyone pushed him at school. seems like he has been friends with all those kids again. yesterday, before i even remembered to ask him about it, he just went up to me said: nobody pushed me today. "ok. that's good." "nia threw a ball at me today. then i threw it back. we were playing catch", he said. "oh ok. that's great."
most of the time, kids' needs are pretty low key. like yesterday night, we had the stir fried mixed veggie. wes saw it and immediately said: my favorite!! ha.. that's cool, i thought to myself... that's easy to make and fairly healthy. i am glad that's his favorite.

another uneventful weekend. i am not complaining, b.t.w. i consider uneventful as very good. i wish i could get more sleep. that's what i am not getting enough these days. i have been reading some books about raising kids and some of the stuff can make you kinda depressed. the way they talk about how fast kids grow and all these different things you need to worry about and all that. i guess it is better to be mentally prepared now!
I look at little wes and carmen thinking: every day they grow bit bigger and i am growing a bit older. wes is already very good at talking back and figuring things out. he doesn't get fooled easily. which can be good and bad.
the other day i saw some small scratches on his neck. so i asked him how he got it. he told me couple kids at school pushed him. after further questioning, he told me it all happened when he wanted to play with those two kids and they somehow didn't want to. so they were basically telling him to 'stop it'. while saying that, they pushed him. he didn't seem to mind too much. he just repeated some canned words to me: everybody is everybody's friend. i guess teacher taught them that at school. the two kids were girls. i asked him if any other kids hit him or push him. he said no. then i reminded him once another girl poked him with a tree branch stick. and he said: yeah... only girls hit and push. isn't that interesting. the next day, i asked the teacher whether he is getting along ok with other kids. and she said yes. so i asked her about the incident since sometimes i need to take what wes says with a grain of salt. she didn't know about it. second day she told me that she asked other teacher and the kids involved and indeed it happened. the kids said they were playing rough and they said sorry. i was like: it is fine. i just wanted to verify whether it was real not and whether he has problems with other kids. she said, no. he is actually quite good with kids...sometimes they do play rough, but then they are ok.
*sigh* little wes is getting big. and he is reminding me of that too. just today, while sitting in the car. he reached for the clothes hanger in on top of the door on the inside. and he said: mommy, look, i can reach! i am big now! I just smiled... thinking.. yeah, you are...

it is getting warm these days. still nice... but lets just keep it that way... don't need to get too hot here.. i got my new laptop at work finally. it took a while to get set up.. mainly due to the new windows 7 o.s. couldn't get VPN to work at first... but thankfully it is working today. so i can finally retire the old laptop.
i finished a painting of wes and carmen recently. finally got time to scan and upload it. it looks dirtier than i'd like it to be... but oh well.. bo insists that wes doesn't look like wes.
last weekend we went to the opening of the local park/zoo. still not that many animals. most of the rides weren't working yet.. ok, it wasn't the real opening yet. more like a preview for members. but still... still wish they actually had the rides working.. i guess we will visit it again soon enough.

work has been keeping me busy..once in a while, all these stuff just seems so mundane. last weekend, dave and i went to a colleague's wedding party. little wes sure seemed to have enjoyed himself. he was jumping, smiling. i am just glad he wasn't screaming like some of the other kids there. food was served rather late. by that time i was starving. but little wes was going strong and didn't seem a tad tired/hungry. the wedding was beautiful and super loud. i was told that is how it always is. they try to get you into the mood of dancing and having fun i guess.
